What is the difference between sock size and shoe size?
| Sock size, traditionally, has been the preferred sizing descriptor on any sock package. Most manufacturers now include both sock and shoe size. See the chart at left. |
Why can’t I use bleach when laundering my socks?
| Nearly all Wilson Sport Socks are knit, in part, with spandex, which reacts to the chlorine in bleach by becoming brittle. This often leads to the yarn cracking or breaking down. Typically, this will affect the top of the sock, resulting in the sock not staying up or falling down. We suggest using non-chlorine bleach. |
Is there a difference between a no show, low cut, low ankle, and ankle socks?
| There is no industry standard when it comes to identifying sock type or silhouette. Two different names can often describe the same, or similar, sock. The only real way to distinguish one from another is by sight and comparing it to your own personal preference. |
Is cotton better for my feet than other or man-made fibers?
| Cotton, being a natural fiber, has always been the fiber of choice for most consumers when purchasing their socks. But, by itself, it is not necessarily the best fiber. Man-made fibers, such as acrylic, nylon, polyester, etc. each have their own unique characteristics and are often blended with cotton to add strength, durability, or performance features. Fundamentally, cotton absorbs moisture and most man made fibers do not. The majority of high performance socks are knit with a lesser percentage of cotton and a greater percentage of some alternative fiber. |
